Dsicover the archeological sites of Knossos, the plateau of Lassithi and its surrounding picturesque villages wuth your local guide!
You will meet your guide and the rest of the group, then you will head on to Knossos. During the trip, you will enjoy the view of the valley and the big open spaces at the heart of the island.
The history of the city goes back to the Neolithic era. Moreover the Knossos Palace was constructed under the reign of King Minos (ticket not included). You will learn of the archeologist Arthur Sir Evan's' discoveries. Your guide will tell you off the ancient myth of the minotaur, which originates from this region!
You will go to the Kera monastery (ticket not included), outside of the city before continuing your trip in mainland Crete. You will stop in Psychro, a village that has an incredible views of the plains and is home to numerous craftspeople. You will then be able to discover the caves of Psychro. From all the myths that have been passed down over the centuries, it is said that Zeus himself was born in one of these caves (ticket not included)!
You will then stop at Tzermiado of which the local architecture is unique. This village's authenticity is representative of the way of life of people from Crete.
At the end of the day, your guide will take you back to Heraklion. You will be able to choose the option of having a transfer from your hotel to the departure point of the tour in Heraklion city centre, in which case you will be brought back to your hotel at the end of the day.
