Leave Dublin behind and head to the south of Ireland and the county of Cork. On the way you will cross County Kildare, an area known for its stud farms!
Along the way you will have a stunning view of the Galty Mountains, Ireland's biggest mountain range. You will then head to the Rock of Cashel. This ancient castle is one of the major sites in Europe for Celtic art and medieval architecture. There you can admire the 28m high tower and the remarkable Cormac's Chapel and you finish with the Cathedral where you can gaze upon one of the best preserved Irish frescoes of the period.
You can then enjoy a break for lunch at the magnificent Blarney Castle, one of Ireland's greatest treasures dating back to the 6th century, and experience the magic of the Blarney Stone, which is said to endow visitors with the gift of the gab!
Before leaving to return to Dublin, you will make stop at the medieval Cahir Castle, one of best preserved Irish castle. You will admire its impressive tower and original defensive structure.
