Visit Scotland as seen in the TV series Outlanders, and visit the famous Doune Castle during this day trip from Edinburgh!
Climb into your mini van and depart Edinburgh, heading back in time to the 16th century and learn more about Scottland as it was during the time of Outlanders!
Cross the Forth Road bridge to reach Culross village. Practically the same since the 16th century, the village plays the part of Cranesmuir village in the series. There will be time to freely explore the village streets and visit the main sites.
Next, pass by Stirling Castle Wallace monument before reaching Doune Castle, known as Leoch Castle in the Outlander series. The next stop will be at Linlithgow Palace, where there will be time to admire the view of Forth Bridge and explore the ruins of Mary, Queen of Scots' birthplace.
After lunch, visit Blackness Castle, known as the "Ship that never sailed", because it resembles a ship. There will also be a stop at Midhope Castle. If it isn't possible to visit the castle, a photo break will happen in front of Jamie's fictional house of Lallybroch.
Before crossing over the other side of Forth Road Bridge and returning to Edinburgh, there will a last stop at South Queensferry.
