Explore Wolf Island, home to a colony of Galápagos sea lions, and go snorkelling from Ochoa Beach in the Galápagos Archipelago!
Departing from Puerto Ayora Port on Santa Cruz Island, you will board a boat to Wolf Island, named after the colony of Galápagos sea lions that live there. The 30-minute trip will take you along the west coast of San Cristobal Island to contemplate the beautiful scenery that will pass before your eyes.
When you arrive at your destination, you will start with a walk along the short hiking trails to explore Wolf Island. You will experience the unique fauna and flora and observe birds that live only on this island, such as the Frigatebird and the Blue-footed booby. Heading north of the island, you will make out Kicker Rock Island in the distance, an iconic place in the Galápagos archipelago, admired for its rich underwater life.
You will continue your walk to a small idyllic beach where a colony of sea lions will welcome you. You will observe them in their natural habitat and may be lucky enough to spot newly born sea lion pups. You will have the opportunity to snorkel in the deep and easily accessible waters. You will have the opportunity to get close to these marine animals, which are known to be fun-loving and will not hesitate to play with you. If you are lucky, you may encounter Pacific turtles in these waters.
Before ending your excursion, you will go to the small white sandy beach of Ochoa, only accessible from Wolf Island. On this beach, which is only 160 metres long, you can observe migratory birds and the Galápagos mockingbird, which is found only on this archipelago. You will have time to relax on this beach, to swim and snorkel.
A packed lunch will be provided at lunchtime. You will enjoy a typical Ecuadorian dish. You will be met at Puerto Ayora Port at the end of your tour.
