Known as the city of gods and goddesses, the capital of Nepal is filled with cultural riches and artisans.
Start the tour by visiting Durbar Square, which is home to many historic monuments. Enter the ancient palace, and see the designs that cover the pillars and buildings.
Next, head to Swayambhunath, one of the city's oldest Buddhist temples. The temple is perched on a hill, giving a wonderful view of Kathmandu below. Here, visitors will find many statues of Buddha as well as numerous monkeys who wander the temple.
Continue on towards Pashupatinath Temple, which is only open to Hindus. Enjoy the protected area, and observe the parade of faithfuls coming to the temple as well as ritual Hindu cremations.
Finish the day by exploring the streets of the city to discover the local fashion and life, as well as to try traditional Nepalese cuisine.
