Go on a medieval excursion to the Templar region in the district of Santarem!
The trip will start in the heart of the capital, Lisbon, where the minibus will pick you up directly from your accommodation in the center of Lisbon (if option chosen) or from Figueira Square.
You will start your tour with a guided visit to Almourol Castle, built in 1171, in the center of Portugal, in the middle of the Tagus River. This medieval castle served as a fortress for the Knights Templar during the Reconquista period.
The visit will continue in Tomar, you will discover its historical center and enjoy a lunch break (not included), you will also taste a local pastry. In the early afternoon, you will visit the church of Santa Maria do Olival, the headquarters of the Templars and the pantheon of all the masters.
Finally, you will end your excursion with a guided tour of the Convent of Christ, a stronghold for the Knights Templar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You will be driven back to the center of Lisbon, Restauradores Square or Marquês de Pombal Square, after a full day excursion.
