Immerse in the heart of Provence for a day! Discover its rich cultural heritage and follow in Van Gogh’s footsteps !
You'll start your day's excursion with a visit to Saint Rémy de Provence. You'll be able to stroll freely through the market and so imbibe the typically Provencal atmosphere that reigns in this village! You'll take a tour of the famous "Plateau des Antiques", a listed natural site where you can admire a "triumphal arch" and a Roman mausoleum.
Then you'll cross the Plaine de la Crau and be impressed by its steppes stretching as far as the eye can see, as well as its many rocky pebbles.
Cap then on to the ancient city of Arles listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Rich in numerous Roman remains, Arles long inspired the famous painter Van Gogh! Discover its arenas, amphitheatre, Saint-Trophime church, Forum, summer garden, café and Espace Van Gogh. On Saturdays, enjoy its typically Provencal market!
Finally, you'll reach Les Baux de Provence, a picturesque perched village and former medieval fortress. Enjoy free time for lunch and a stroll through its cobbled streets.
At an additional cost, you can take a self-guided tour of the Carrières de Lumières, and watch a son et lumières show (admission not included).
At the end of the day, you'll return to Marseille accompanied by your driver.
