Explore the Black River Gorges National Park on a guided hike!
The Black River Gorges National Park, located in the west of Mauritius, represents around 3% of the island's surface area covering 6.5 hectares. This is one of the island's most important natural areas, with hiking trails followed by travellers from all over the world.
You'll meet your guide in Black River where you will begin your off-the-beaten-track hike to experience an authentic adventure in the wild. You'll set off to explore the ecosystem that is home to various endemic species, such as the Mauritius Parakeet or the Pink Pigeon.
You'll reach an altitude of 400 metres, giving you remarkable views of the park and its surroundings. During your excursion, you will have the opportunity to swim in one of the rivers, to make the most of the delights Mauritius has to offer. Your guide will accompany you throughout your hike, teaching you about the island's nature and showing you the hidden treasures of the Mauritian forests.
To finish you will head back down to your starting point.
