Explore St. Basil’s Cathedral on Red Square in Moscow with a guide!
Your guide will collect you from your hotel and you will head to explore St. Basil’s Cathedral, built in the 16th century on the orders of Ivan the Terrible. The Basilica, with its colourful and fantastical decoration, is Moscow’s most iconic monument.
You will explore its 9 churches, and the 8 chapels that represent the 8 battles of the conquest of the Khanate of Kazan. Their main domes can be differentiated by their varying shapes and colours.
Once inside the cathedral, marvel at the frescoes that cover its walls. Legend says that the Tsar ordered the Basilica’s architects’ eyes to be stabbed to prevent them from recreating this masterpiece elsewhere.
Your guide will take you back to your hotel at the end of the excursion.
