Departing from Porto, opt for our off-the-beaten-track day tour of the Douro Valley in a small group of 8 people. On the program: winery visits, wine tasting, cruise and traditional lunch!
Your driver-guide will pick you up by minibus from your accommodation in the center of Porto, then take you into the Douro Valley. The Douro Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its famous Port wines and picture-postcard landscapes.
Your first stop will be at a family winery, where you'll learn more about the Douro's winemaking traditions, enjoy a guided tour of the vineyards and taste a wine from their production.
From here, you'll head for the small port of Pinhão below, and enjoy a private cruise for you and your group of 8. The traditional wooden boat will sail along the Douro River, and for an hour you'll observe the scenery before you.
At the end of the cruise, you'll follow your guide to a typical Portuguese restaurant, far from the tourist crowds. Enjoy a three-course seasonal lunch.
After lunch, you'll head to a second winery specializing in the production of port wine. Your hosts will give you a guided tour of their winery and let you taste their finest wines.
You'll be taken back to your accommodation in Porto, after a complete discovery of the Douro Valley, off the beaten track.
