Rio de Janeiro is Brazil's largest city, very famous for its world-famous carnival and statue of Christ the Redeemer, its historic district is sometimes forgotten even though it provides a better understanding of the city's history.
On this guided tour, you'll learn more about the legends and stories woven through the alleys of the historic center.
You'll have the opportunity to stroll through the narrow streets of the city center and discover its old buildings.
You'll start your walking tour with a visit to Saint-Benoît Abbey, one of the oldest in Brazil, and Notre Dame de Candelaria Church, impressive for its different architectural styles.
The tour then takes you to November 15 Square, where Brazilian emperors were crowned, and from where you can admire the colonial-style Imperial Palace.
Then on to the Cultural Center, a building constructed in 1880 that was the headquarters of several companies before becoming an art museum.
You'll also pass the Casa França-Brasil, an important place in the history of Brazilian independence, and Rue Gonçalves Dias to admire the Café Colombo, famous for its Belle Epoque style.
The day will end on Rue Uruguaiana, to the Cathedral of Saint Sebastian, a symbol of modernist architecture.
