Leave Los Angeles behind as you head out to discover the best of the American West. From Los Angeles to Las Vegas, via San Francisco, Yosemite National Park and Santa Barbara, discover the Far West of the US!
Day 1: Californian Coast
You will leave Los Angeles and travel along the coast of California, making a stop at Santa Barbara, where you will see a former Spanish mission, which greatly the development of the region. Next you will continue on to Solvang, a small town which serves as home to a Danish community. Following this stop, you will move on to Carmel-by-the-Sea, hometown of the actor and director Clint Eastwood, before eventually arriving in San Francisco, where you will continue your exploration of the Californian coast and spend the night.
Day 2: San Francisco
After a good night's rest, you'll be ready to explore San Francisco with a cruise on the bay, sailing under the famous Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz Island. The afternoon will be spent taking in the town and its famous monuments, such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Union Square. You will round off the day with a view over San Francisco at night, to be enjoyed from the Bay Bridge.
Day 3: Yosemite National Park
Head out of San Francisco to seek out a real wonder of nature: Yosemite National Park. Yosemite's lakes, waterfalls, green forests and giant redwoods make for a truly unforgettable visit.
Day 4: Death Valley and Las Vegas
Make way for the desert! The fourth day will see you cross Death Valley, before stopping at the border of Nevada for a shopping break. Come evening you will arrive in the city of gambling and sin: Las Vegas! You will take in the sights of the city and particularly the main street, the Strip, where you will have opportunity to admire the legionnaires of Caesar's Palace, the Eiffel Tower of Paris and the Sphinx of Luxor. Spend an evening at your leisure, enjoying one of the many shows on offer or trying your luck at a casino.
Day 5: Hoover Dam
On the last day of your foray in to the far west, you will leave Las Vegas behind to discover the impressive Hoover Dam. Built to control the flow of the Colorado River and to generate energy for the surrounding desert region, this wonder of human engineering is a monument of both historical and technological importance. At the end of this visit, the bus will travel back through the desert towards the coast to Los Angeles.
