You'll leave Tirana for Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed museum town, better known as “the city of a thousand windows”. Berat is situated along the Osum River and has a history dating back to the 6th century BC.
When you arrive in Berat, you'll be impressed by the typical buildings, historic churches and mosques.
You'll visit Berat Castle, perched on a rocky hill 260 meters above sea level, from where you can observe the churches that have survived the centuries.
You'll then visit the Onufri Iconographic Museum (Muzeu Kombëtar Ikonografik Onufri), dedicated to Byzantine art and iconography, famous for its carved wooden iconostasis.
