Visit Mauthausen concentration camp with a professional guide!
You'll meet your guide in Vienna city centre and take the road towards the Mauthausen concentration camp, about 2 and a half hours drive from Vienna. Built in 1938, Mauthausen Concentration Camp was until 1945 the main concentration camp in Austria, which had more than 40 sub-camps.
Now a memorial site, the site's mission is to preserve the history of the Mauthausen concentration camp and its sub-camps and to honour the victims. It also contributes to research into the history of the camp and allows visitors to discover the tragic history of the Mauthausen camp.
On arrival, you will enjoy a two-hour guided tour of the main sites of Mauthausen concentration camp. You can stop for lunch (not included) in the site's bistro, then head to the village of Mauthausen, which you can explore at your leisure with an hour of free time. Lastly, you will be driven back to Vienna after an emotional day full of history.
