Description

Discover two of Zanzibar's must-sees in one day: Stone Town & Prison Island!

From your hotel, you will be picked up and taken to Stone Town Harbour. You will embark on a traditional boat to Prison Island. As its name suggests, this island was once a prison where slaves were confined, and was even a quarantine area for yellow fever patients. Today the island is one of Zanzibar's must-see sites as it is home to a reserve of giant tortoises, an endangered species brought here from the Seychelles.

You will then continue your day by visiting Stone Town. You will learn more about the multicultural history of the city. You will discover the most important landmarks such as the Anglican Church (former slave marketplace), the former home of Freddy Mercury, the Sultan's Palace, and the fruit, vegetable and fish market.

You will be driven back to your hotel in Zanzibar at the end of the tour.
